Learning Disabilities
At Lumiere Homes, our approach prioritises the individual in everything we do. We listen, we learn, and we cultivate relationships while crafting unique support plans for each person. With 5 years of experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, we recognise the varying challenges they may face, from mild symptoms to more severe and challenging traits. This understanding drives our flexible approach to support, allowing us to adapt to each individual’s needs and help them live their best life, regardless of their circumstances.
Testimonial:
“My niece received support from Lumiere Homes after her previous carers retired. This transition provided her with a newfound safe and stable environment, enabling her to thrive while we continuously monitor her epilepsy.”

What is a learning disability?
A learning disability is a neurological condition that affects the brain’s ability to send, receive and process information. This means that people with a learning disability may find it harder when it comes to daily life skills like reading, writing and caring for themselves. Everyone’s learning disabilities are unique. There are different types and severities of learning disabilities, which means that everyone will experience slightly different challenges.
Supported living for people with learning disabilities
We offer a range of different support for people living with learning disabilities that are designed to meet individual needs. This might help with maintaining independence or providing encouragement to achieve a particular goal. The level of support we provide is completely flexible – whether it’s just a few hours a week or 24-7, we adapt our plan for each person.
There’s plenty of choice and flexibility within our locations too. Our supported living apartments provide traditional, stylish and purpose-built surroundings that ensure people with learning disabilities can live with independence in their own home.
